DIRECTOR Applications
are invited from the Indian Nationals for appointment to the post of Director on deputation (including short term contract)/Contract basis in Satyajit Ray Film
& Television Institute, Kolkata, an autonomous organisation under the
Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. The Director
is the Chief Executive of the Institute and is in charge of both academic and
administrative functions. He is responsible for proper administration of the
Institute, imparting training to the students and maintenance of discipline
therein. The mode of selection, required educational qualification and
experience are as under:- 1 NAME OF THE POST: DIRECTOR (01 POST) 2. Pay
Scale: PB4 – Rs.37,400 – 67,000/- + Grade Pay- Rs. 10,000/- 3. Age Limit: The
maximum age limit for appointment on deputation(including short term
contract) shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing day of receipt of
application and in case of Contract, the period of Contract shall be for 3
(three ) years which may be extended up to 6 years or 60 years of age,
whichever is earlier (A)
DEPUTATION : Officers of Central Government/State Government/ Autonomous
bodies/Statutory Organisations/Semi-Government Organizations. (a) (i)
holding analogous post on regular basis OR (ii) with three
years of regular service in the Scale of Pay of PB4 – Rs.37,400 – 67,000/- +
Grade Pay- Rs. 8,700/- and (b) Possessing the following educational
qualification and experience. (I) ESENTIAL: (a) Graduate from a
recognized University. (II) DESIRABLE : (b) Experience of managing or
making personal contribution in one of the following areas: . Writing
Stories/Lyrics/Screen Play/Script for films or TV programmes. . Editing of
Film/TV programmes. . Production of
Film/TV programmes. . Direction of
film/plays/TV programme (II)
Period of deputation
: Initially for three years [including period of deputation (including short
term contract) in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this
appointment in the same or some other organization / department of the
Central Govt.] and shall ordinarily not exceed five years. The pay of the
officer selected will be regulated in accordance with the instructions
contained in the Department of Personnel & Training’s O.M.
No.2/29/91-Estt.(Pay-II) dated 05.01.1994, as
amended from time to time. (B) CONTRACT : AS PER THE STANDARD FORM OF
CONTRACT (I) ESSENTIAL: (a) Graduate
from of a recognized University (b) Minimum 15 years
experience in the field of film/Electronic Media, out of which minimum three
years of experience in heading
an Academic/ professional Institution /University/Department/Organization of National
repute. (III) DESIRABLE : (a) Being a filmmaker of repute (b) Having a post-graduate degree or diploma in cinema from a
recognized University or Institute. (c)
Having experience of teaching courses related to films/TV in a recognized
University / Institution.
Contract for a period of 3 years which may be
extended up to 6 years or 60 years of age, whichever is earlier.

(4) present occupation (5) present salary and other details, on plain paper,
with attested copies of supporting documents, addressed to “Director,
Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, E.M. Bypass Road, P.O. Panchasayar, Kolkata 700 094”, should reach latest by
15.9.2009. In case of Govt. employees, the application
should be accompanied by attested photocopies of ACRs for the last
five years and the same should be routed through proper channel. Candidates who have
responded earlier are free to apply again and the candidates short listed earlier will also be called for interview. |
